St. Albans

The Royal Charter for a market was granted in 1553 although the market is believed to date as far back as the 9th century. But you'll find the bargains more up to date than that and don't miss the tasty treats to be had in the food section in Market Place. The market runs the length of St Peters Street and it takes place every Wednesday and Saturday.

There is also the Maltings shopping centre with stores such as Crew, Fatface, H&M, Joules, Oliver Bonas and Body Shop amongst the selection to tempt you, but if that's not to your fancy then maybe pop into the Hotel Chocolat, after all you're on holiday...

Oxford Street & Carnaby Street

Oxford Street is Europe's busiest shopping street with up to 500,000 visitors a day. Add that to the fact that Regent Street is just around the corner with another stellar line up of shops and the delights of the more boutique style of Carnaby Street is also just a few steps away and you have a serious shoppers dream.

Visit the famous Selfridges store at one end, the Flagship John Lewis at the other and everyone who's anyone in between. Take a small detour to the designer shops of Bond Street, or head for the famous Hamleys toy store or Liberty in Regent Street - your biggest problem might be carrying all your new treasures back to the hotel!
